Studying abroad may be the key to a wider world, more career opportunities and unforgettable experiences, however, is it true that the other half of the world is always a promising land and all the dreams nurtured before leaving for another country can come true? No. Not everyone can overcome all the difficulties and challenges when living in a foreign country.
Homesickness:life in another country is not easy. Most of the time, you have to face all the problems yourself without the support from your family. Especially in the time of illness, failure and family holidays, you will be even weaker, lonelier and wearier.
Cultural shock : you will have to fight agaist language barriers, differences between the local climate, cuisine and lifestyles compared to yours, which is very stressful and time-consuming. This fight requires you to try hard and put a great deal of effort into it.
Temptations: it takes lots of determination and e really strong spirit to say no to all the temptations when living out of your parental control in a "free" western country. In fact, many international students got attracted by all the parties and drinking fun; many others got distracted by the thirst of making money. They all forgot their main purpose of their staying abroad: learning. A waste of money and bad result certainly come after as a consequence.
"There is no road of flowers leading to glory." (La Fontaine) it is not easy to be able to step out of your country to go to school. It is even more difficult to finish your studying with a good result. Thus, be prepared and determined to overcome all the obstacles and get a result worth all the time and money you spent abroad.
