In the afternoon of 27 June 2017, at Ton Duc Thang University took place the Opening Ceremony of The International Conference in Environmental Finance (ICIEF 2017).

Global warming and its consequences have become an important international matter that leads to agreements and international laws to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the consequences’ impacts. Promulgation of those agreements and environmental laws have influenced the sectors of economics, accounting and finance in different ways. Among them, environmental economics and accounting have been intensely studied by academia but environmental finance is rather new. ICIEF 2017 is to introduce this issue to researchers from Ton Duc Thang University and Viet Nam and also a forum for international researchers to discuss and exchange information. Moreover, this is also a source of scientific information, a conversational platform and experience sharing forum about environmental laws and their influence, environmental disasters’s impacts on financial market, green credit and market behaviour.
ICIEF 2017 has connected Vietnamese enterprises with researchers from all over the world, laying the first stone of an annual conference on environmental finance at Ton Duc Thang University in years to come and partially improving the quality of teaching and research activities and international publication of TDTU.
